From February 2 to 7, a working meeting was held in the Kingdom of Morocco between representatives of the Research Institute for Biological Safety Problems (RIBSP) LLP and their colleagues from the Pasteur Institute of Morocco (Institut Pasteur du Maroc). The meeting was organized with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, including the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Morocco, Ms. Saulekul Sailauovna.
The Institute was represented at the meeting by:
- D. Zhugunissov – Director General of RIBSP;
- Sh. Myrzakhmetova – Professor, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Head of the Laboratory of Especially Dangerous Infectious Diseases;
- A. Abdykalyk – Junior Researcher of the Microbiology Laboratory.
The main purpose of the visit was to develop partnership relations and strengthen international cooperation in the field of epidemiology, prevention, and control of infectious diseases. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for joint scientific research, exchange of experience, and analytical data on infections and their pathogens posing a threat to human and animal health.
Special attention was paid to monitoring the epidemiological situation, implementing modern diagnostic and laboratory research methods, as well as expanding cooperation within the framework of global biological safety.
Following the negotiations, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further developing cooperation and implementing joint projects aimed at strengthening the biological safety system and protecting public health. They also discussed перспективные направления scientific research in healthcare and veterinary medicine, as well as the intention to establish international trilateral cooperation between the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC), the Pasteur Institute of Morocco (IPM), and RIBSP LLP.
