On November 27–28, 2025, in Astana, the Joint-Stock Company “National Holding ‘QazBioPharm’” held an international scientific and practical conference devoted to topical issues of biosafety, the exchange of experience, and the development of recommendations for its enhancement.
The conference brought together experts in the field of biosafety at one of Kazakhstan’s largest international venues, where specialists from Kazakhstan, France, China, Russia, and other countries discussed current threats and innovative solutions.
The event was attended by representatives of government agencies, international expert organizations, academic and research centers, specialized institutes, as well as industrial companies in the fields of healthcare, veterinary medicine, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals.
As part of the conference, an exhibition of high-tech products was also organized, where participants could familiarize themselves with scientists’ developments and works, including test systems, vaccine platforms, medicinal products, and technological solutions for monitoring and preventing infectious diseases.
The purpose of the conference was to discuss current challenges in the field of biological safety, share scientific results, strengthen international cooperation, and develop practical recommendations aimed at improving preparedness for biological threats.
Over the course of two days, four strategically important areas were considered:
- Monitoring of the epidemiological and epizootic situation, including external and priority internal sources of threats.
- Modern approaches to the development of diagnostic tools for the detection of infectious disease pathogens.
- Technological trends in the development of next-generation immunobiological drugs and vaccines.
- Problems of antimicrobial resistance and innovative ways to address them.
