On October 20, 2025, a round table was held at Astana Medical University, jointly organized by the Department of Science and Human Resources of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Committee for Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The event was attended by vice-rectors for science of medical universities, representatives of research institutes and national centers, as well as Editors-in-Chief of domestic medical journals. On behalf of the Institute, Deputy Director General for Science and Commercialization O.V. Chervyakova and technical editor of the scientific journal “Biosafety and Biotechnology” M.R. Abayeva took part in the event.
During the round table, topical issues of the development of medical scientific journals in the country were discussed, and long-term plans and strategies for improving the quality of domestic publications, ensuring international recognition, and inclusion in the world’s leading databases were presented.
Special attention was paid to issues of editorial ethics and scientific integrity, exchange of experience, and strengthening cooperation between scientific organizations and journal editorial boards.
